From Honeymooners to "Sandals Pros”

It all started in 2015. My husband and I booked our honeymoon at Sandals Regency La Toc, thinking this would be a "once every five years" kind of treat. However, after having our son, we quickly realized we needed to prioritize our marriage differently. We decided to carve out one week every year to reconnect, focus entirely on each other, and simply be a couple again rather than just "parents."

That is how we became yearly Sandals travelers.

We stay in a Butler Level suite on every trip, and honestly, it transforms the experience. Having a butler handle our dinner reservations, bring snacks to the room, set us up with a cooler and a prime spot on the beach, and surprise us with lunch or drinks makes the vacation feel truly effortless.

I spend 51 weeks a year taking care of other people. I look forward to that one week where there is no cooking, no cleaning, no dishes, and no grocery shopping. It is a true break from the mental load, where I can be pampered for seven straight days.

Between trips, I started hanging out in online fan communities, sharing everything I learned—from which room had the best view to where to find the best coffee. Eventually, friends and family stopped guessing and started asking me to plan their trips because I had the firsthand experience they needed. When my son headed off to kindergarten, I decided to make it official, and Golden Times Travel was born.
